This past week has been so unsettling for me knowing that friends in this country were suffering, cold and homeless.
Hearing about the people still without power and watching the long lines at the gas pumps is heavy on my heart. Today I am reaching out to you, in case you feel the same way.
Members of the Hometalk community are rallying behind this effort. Our mission is a simple one with a fast turn around time.
We're focusing on providing warm socks, gloves and winter hats to those who need it most right now.
We're focusing on providing warm socks, gloves and winter hats to those who need it most right now.
You can help us gather up some warmth to share by collecting socks, gloves and winter hats - for men, women and children of all ages - and sending them to:
Socks for Sandy
P.O. Box 520
Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087
Please mail by Friday, November 9, since the need is urgent.
Laura a fellow Blogger at Pet Scribbles and Hometalk member (you can read her story on her blog) will receive all packages and immediately take them to the local hurricane shelter for distribution. Any excess will be given to the other hurricane shelters up and down New Jersey's coastline.
Another option:
Donating directly to the Red Cross is still the fastest way to get your money into the hands of those who need it the most.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know the Northeast Thanks you too!
Grateful for:
Making a difference in someones life today.
